KULEFU TENTED CAMP
Kulefu Tented Camp is situated deep in the game-rich Lower Zambezi National Park in Zambia. Kulefu is a secluded, intimate safari camp settled comfortably in the deep shade of tall, riverine trees.
Profoundly peaceful, eco-friendly and well-appointed, Kulefu Tented Camp overlooks one of the permanent channels of the legendary Zambezi River. This lovely location affords guests unrivalled game viewing opportunities, as the wildlife filters through the corridor between the steep escarpment and the Zambezi.
Kulefu has been totally refurbished in 2007, giving it a sophisticated and luxurious feel. The camp consists of eight spacious tented rooms on raised teak decking with twin beds or double beds, mosquito nets, en-suite facilities (basin, toilet, bath and shower), solar heated water and a private veranda overlooking the Zambezi River.
The informal bar, lounge and dining area are housed in a magnificent central marquee, giving an open-air feel and harmonising with the surrounding environment. Rhodesian teak and natural fabrics add comfort and authenticity.
Due to the remoteness of Kulefu Tented Camp, the camp lights and hot water systems are solar powered and traditional paraffin lanterns illuminate pathways and tent entrances.
Meals are served at the usually accepted times but can be dependent on game drives and will vary seasonally. All meals are table d'hôte with a wide selection of dishes. At Kulefu Tented Camp meals are served outdoors whenever possible and often around a campfire in the evening.
The Lower Zambezi National Park is an extremely remote area with abundant and varied wildlife including the 'Big Four'. There are good populations of elephant, lion, buffalo, waterbuck, leopard, hyaena, zebra, various gazelle and many bird species.
