Chief's Camp is a luxury bush camp situated on the northwest tip of Chief's Island in the exclusive Mombo concession of the Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana's Okavango Delta. This region is known as the 'predator capital' of Africa and is considered to have the finest game viewing in Southern Africa.
This elegant tented camp provides an oasis of comfort in the heart of the Delta. Chief's Camp has been so skillfully integrated into the landscape that guests can often view game without even leaving camp. Shaded from the heat of the day by a beautiful grove of Jackalberry trees, Chief's Camp is so remote you'll feel like the only humans for miles and miles.
Chief's Camp has 12 secluded, permanent luxury bush pavilions; each designed for ultimate privacy and comfort, and to offer you a front row seat for this rich and rewarding African adventure.
Each pavilion features a thatched roof, spacious seating area, en-suite facilities with indoor and outdoor shower as well as a private game viewing deck with hammock and deck chairs. Each unit boasts a generous mosquito net on a four-poster bed, two wardrobes, a book shelf, writing desk and mini bar.
The main lodge complex houses the dining area, curio shop, library and reception area. The boma is the setting for after dinner drinks by the campfire. Hot and cold water, electricity, laundry services, and sumptuous meals add up to an 'out of this world' experience.
Chief's Camp also features an exquisite swimming pool and a range of spa treatments are offered by our beauty therapist in a poolside treatment sala (high season only).
Game viewing opportunities at Chief's Camp include daily excursions in open-sided 4x4 safari vehicles and quiet mokoro excursions along narrow Delta channels during the flood season (subject to water levels). Expert guides are always on hand to offer a wealth of wildlife knowledge, to help you make the most of these rare and wonderful opportunities.
Game viewing at Chief's Camp is nothing short of spectacular at any given time. Apart from its predators, the area is also renowned for its large concentrations of plains game, elephant and buffalo. Game drives are conducted in custom built open vehicles, which offer unencumbered views and individual seating.
